Do something!

Everyday I buy an issue of the Jordan Times. One of the columns I like to read is one by Rana Hussaini titled "crime".

The thing about this column is it tells two stories. One of a crime occured recently (murder, rapr, molesting..etc etc) and the other of prior crim that has been moved into court and given a verdict.

The thing that gets on my nerves is that most of the time, the defendant would be given a maximum sentence for his\her crime but the sentence would suddenly drop to half because "the victims family dropped the charges"

In most of the "dropped the charges" cases, I've noticed, the defendant would be acquainted to the victim and his\her family.

It sounds really funny to me! We always brag about being great parents, we'd do anything to prtoect our children yet when something horrible happens to any of them we go and drop the chrages! Why? Because the defendant is out friend and we don't betray pur friends...but it's alright to betray our children, ironically.

I'm not saying we should be agressive, I'm just suggesting that we should stand up and speak out loud for the sake of those who get hurt then get forgotten!

some might be afraid that it'll ruin their reputation, such cases and such charges. Beautifully enough, the victims would live in fear and disgust all their lives, if not dead. Because their families didn't want to ruin their reputation.

I believe there should be education about these issues, parenting classes perhaps.

It's too pathetic to continue this way!

And some wonder why there's a lot of mentally ill people!

If Your Head's Among The Stars..

This saying made me stop and think:

"If your head is among the stars, the stars are under my feet"

Now why would you say such thing?

I don't understand the way we treat people. One day they're friends of ours and we really like them and go out with them etc etc. The next day we tell them such things like that saying up there.

Who are you, anyway, to say such horrible thing to someone? Is it because you think they did something you hate? Have you wondered why people would do such things that'd make you feel horrible? Don't you think that it's, in fact, you thay determines the way people act towards you?

Pathetic. Pathetic how we turn our lives to a struggle made just to show who's in charge. Pathetic how we tend to use agressive terms and words

So, if your head is among the stars or the stars are under your feet..you are so pathetic!

End of story!

Leave My Aura Alone!

What's an aura that like to b left alone? MINE!

Amazing how people never quit middling in other people's behaviours. Whoever gave you permission to analyze and give results about others?

Who gave you permession to mess with my aura and decide what aspects it has? I mean, why would you even say such things?

I'll tell you what, let's go back away to the very first day we've met. Yes, that day. You people dodged me away, made me feel like I don't fit in here and tried as much as you can to scare me away.

BANG you discover I'm here to stay! I'm not terrified by your looks, I'm not scared because of your attitudes and I really really don't care what you do, score or fancy!

Yeah, didn't see that coming? So you go on talking about me, behind my back, in between your little groups and off the record! Wait, smell that? Yeeeess, it's my taking over this land! You know why? Because I know my limits and I also know my abilities...I'm using them! Taking over.

I know what you say, and I know how you talk...and I really don't care. If talking about me pleases your miserable selves, go on, talk till your mouth is dry and you brain is blank. Wanna talk more? Go ahead!

BUT when it comes to my aura, exit the area and shut the door tight. Leave my aura alone..manage your own and don't get things blown!

There's already so much on my plate without your childish tries to prove yourselves against me. Grow up and think better, create your own auras and leave mine alone.

Leave.

Dear Teacher

Dear Teacher,

Thank you for being so faithful by not missing any classes and committing to class times accurately. It's pleasant to be in your classes and listen to every word you say, every joke you share & surely every piece of information you teach.

Another thank you for the way you dress. Casual or formal is wonderful because you keep your looks neat, simple and chic. None of us can ever thank you for giving us so much time to be here, putting up with pur demands, out exams and our overloaded reasons for being here.

We might not always agree, however, I like your way of dodging the tension away and coming to terms of agreeably disagreeing.

However...you knew there'll be a however coming, right?

Sometimes, I just can't help but be annoyed at the time you waste telling us the same over-told stories about your life abroad when you were a PhD student. We all have things to be proud off, yet when "being proud" reached the arrogancy point, it's unwelcome.

You go on complaining about the public bathrooms on campus saying they're disgusting; well it's a public bathroom, what do you expect? There was no need to tell us what you use in your own private bathroom to show us you're neat. It was totally pointless. I mean, who puts carpets in their bathroom?

Also, it just gets on my nerves the way you claim to be of another's countries origin when you can't actually pronounce words like "talking" correctly. Yes, you say it more like "ta-king" so you might want to check out its phonetic transcription before bragging with it.

You know, we love a professor who's fun to talk to, but sometimes we actually have places to be in and things to do other than standing there and talking to you for 90 minutes. Man, we need to get home or be in a class or something.

A decent teacher will always gain our respect. But he\she who claims to be decent then does the opposite is and will never be considered respectful. Just thought you should know this.

One final thing, a man's attitude is known at times of tension. We frankly hate it when you insult a student who was late for class.
Even worse, we really loathe it when you concentrate on certain people who have the "looks" or "power" and neglect the others. It's plain obnoxious!

Oh, and PLEASE do not kill our minds with wasteing our lectures with your stories then waking up 2 weeks before the final to find out we have a whole lot of material to cover. I mean, sure occasionally we'd like to hear one of your cute stories, but not on every single class.

Well, judging by how amazing you claim to be, we hope you'll read this and make note of it.

Sincerely,
Us.

DRUGS

"Military science" is an obligatory class for every college student who carries a Jordanian nationality studying at any Jordanian university, private & public.

It basically introduces the system of the Jordanian armed forces, its devisions and departments alongside some crucial national concepts.
Why am I writing this blog entry? Because I had a very interesting lecture today in this class, about drugs.

It was basic education on drugs, introduced by a lieutenant from the devision of fighting drugs ( sorry, I don't know the actual name of the department in English ). The lecturer was amazing; amazing skills, great talk and astonishing use of humor-for-a-purpose. Although there were times where humor was not suitable, so it wasn't used.

Now, I've never really went deep on researching about drugs, brcase they're not wide-spread in Jordan, thank God, yet today's talk really affected me. Although the known cases were only 1200 cases, it remains sad. There's no industry for planting drugs here, again, thank God, yet some people, as everywhere else, succeed in smugling some in.

We were breifed ( briefed?spell check plz) about heroine, cocaine and marijuana. Prices, what people do to get these stuff, also how many doses would make you an addict, what happens if u don't get ur dose in time and such info.
It SHOCKS what people do in favor of a poision that kills them. Amazing how many sabotage and insult their own intellegence and how many many people who had very bright futures lying front of them wipe them all away for the sake of getting a moment of extasy that'll sooner or later end their life along with their long-dead future...unless they do something about it.

In Islam, drugs, along with alcohol, as u all may know, are forbidden. For one simple sane reason: they kill you, and if not, they milk you to zero. In our culture, drugs are unacceptable, for the reasons before.

Some stories told today brought tears in my eyes alongsode the 500 other sutdents in the auditorium, for other stories, we laughed our heads off, not mocking the victims, only because of the sillyness of parents who don't even have a clue on what their son's favorite color is.
In a story told today, 3 guys overdosed and dies, 3 young guys not more than 22 years old. One guy's parents were like "we are so shocked that our son was addicted! We didn't know were he gets the money for drugs! Afterall, we only assigned 150$ as his daily allowence!!"

As drugs are not welcome in this culture, the department welcomes any addict who wants to lose their addiction, dealed with very secretly to avoid social scandal for that person. Many has succeeded in going back to normal life and leading careers, while others recovered for a while, then slipped back into addiction.

I'd like to hear your comments on this, any follow up questions u'd like to ask or any ideas u'd love to add =)

Basel

I like the name itself.

Basel was a 5 years-old boy who had brain cancer. My sister, being a nurse at a cancer centre, met this boy. She said he was extraordinary; smart, charming and very gorgoues. But most of all, he was very brave.

She said that everytime he saw her he'd say "you are the ugliest nurse I've ever seen! You never wear make-up!"

But one day, he was late for his chemo-therapy session and he had this fake sword with him. So he went to my sister wanting to fight her, my sister adores kids, so she said " well, why don't you use your sword with the ppl who operate the session?" when that worked, he came up to my sister and said " you know, you're not ugly anymore =)"

One day, I went to visit my sis, I ot to her house before her, and she came along with this tiny bottle of bubble solution and said "hey look, Basel got me this today because he thinks I'm pretty now"

I loved this boy without even meeting him. He, and many other cases, just tell you how strong a child is. They know they're sick, but they still play around and laugh along. Basel was brave, very brave.

He lost his ability to speak lately, he only smiled at people he liked.

The beauty of life lies in the eyes of these charachters who paint your world with their charming souls. It hurts when you see such a soul in such pain but it even hurts more when you know there's nothing you can do but sit and watch them slip away.

Makes you very happy when one of them recovers and joins life again without fear of dying soon yet you get a new hope everytime one of these amazing people smiles at you.

Basel died last week.

The NT Zone: Someone Stole The Bridge!!

It was an ordinary Thursday a few months ago, T and I were going home from college after a long long day at the summer term. Summer classes are known to be boring, annoying and melting-hot.

Missing our direct bus home, we had to take 2 buses, one down to the old bus "station" and the other from there to home.

On the way, there's a big beautiful park, Al-Hussain Park; a nice place to have picnics with your family & friends. The bus passed by it and there was a project to make a new pedastry bridge there. You know, bridges designed for people to use them when wanting to cross streets.

The steps there, but the main body was not done yet. So I looked out and said " Hey T, look!!"

She looked and said " yeah, it's a bridge project.....find someone who cares."
So I said " no no, idiota!! Eres muy tonta!! that's not a bridge project, that is a crime!! Can't you see that someone stole the bridge??"

Dark side is, at that moment, I REALLY had the idea that someone stole the bridge; I was just wondering how they smuggled it away, unnoticed.

Bright side is, everyine in the bus, except for T, was too busy yawning to have heard, cared or laughed at what I said.

There you go, and NT moment brought to you by NIDO =D

Till I write again, peace ;)

The NT Zone

My best friend and I have our own angle from which we look at situations. We always try to find the bright side or simply season up the dark side. From these seasonings comes up our own comments and situation poins of view. Mostly funny. Here are some of our funny moments.

In the upcoming posts.

Because I'm A Scorpio

A person's astrological sifn isn't really the first thing I inquire about....it might be the last thing, or let me be honest, I don't really care about this kind of things!

Yet it strikes me how some people believe SO much in it! I've stumbled upon some people who wouldn't go deep into talks with me because their astrological sign just doesn't get along with mine......

Another thing, some people were astonished when they found out that one of my friends and me are both scorpios, stating that scorpios do not get along together. In fact, my friend was astonished herself that we;re both scorpios and do get along.

I just don't get it, why should a star formation that was in the sky on the day in which I was born affect me at all? It just doesn't make sense to me..
Does it make sense to you?

Now, why am I so angry at this, well, because I'm a scorpio! What's YOUR excuse for reading? =P

Born Yesterday

This is usually used for saracasm "what do you think I was born yesterday??" as a signal of somone as if saying "I'm not stupid, I'm not low-informed"

But I'm gonna use it here litrally..

Yesterday, a new soul joined my life, joyfully.....no, I'm not getting engaged ( this was what everyone thought once I said that line!!)

I've been blessed with a new nephew joining my "Auntie Nido" club. My sister, after a pretty exhausting journey, gave birth to a baby boy named "Faisal"

Of course, I didn't see the baby yet, my sister is abroad and gave birth abroad, so, I might not see the new baby for a while.

I'm very excited!! And can't wait to meet Faisal, her 3rd baby and my 12th nephew!!
May Allah bless him and all my loved ones.

It's a BIG SKY !! Brighten up =D

Another Bunch Of Thoughts

"Over-Joking Can Lead To Disasters"
The thing about Joking is that it's not always right. For any joke to be funny, it must be made at the right time and with the right manners.

You can't expect me to laught at a joke that was meant to make me look like a fool to everyone present. One more thing, once u let the joke hit the road, it's not funny anymore.

"If You Study, You Will Pass.....No More"

This is niether a general case nor should you take it for granted. It's just at some points on this globe, your looks and behaviours matter more than your work.

"Stop The Typical Predictable Questions!!"
So when you meet a friend they asdk you the same old questions with the same old answers; as if all they care about is hello and goodbye. I do admit that it's the best way to start a conversation, yet it just gets boring when you do it the saem old way...create new ways!! And there's absolutely no harm if u add a nice smile to that.

"Enough Already!!"
Ever noticed how some TV shows are over-due, over-consumed and just gotta be pushed out of the tray? I mean, I believe that they never planned for a certain TV show to last for ore than one season, but then it sky-rockets and succeeds sot they think "oh what the heck, let's make another season and make more money!!" but it just hits them that the next season is a failure. Why? Because you only made it to make money. There's no creativity in there.

"Don't Try To Be Cute, Just Be You!"
Many would say"hey, I don't fit in here, I gotta do what this group of people does so I can fit in" Well, I disagree. If you can't fit in, convert things to your own layout. Just be you, don't be scared of looking different than everyone else. Think of yourself as normally as you can. Just be you.

For My Mailing List

Hi all
This post is specialy written for the sake of my mailing list that I've ust created, It's to let you know that I'm shutting down my other blogs and slowly moving some of my entries o other blogs to this one.

Please check reguralry for new posts here and wait for a signal from me to put you on another blog that I'll create specially for the project which I'll be working on soon.

You're free to comment of course, I like reading comments

There are 2 entries before this one.

Hope you're all well

A Bunch Of Thoughts

"Kim Possible"
For those who don't know, Kim Possible is a Disney character that describes this youg high-schools gurl called "Kim Possible" who resembles an ordinary lady during the day and a superhero during the night. Her motto is "there's no impossible for Kim Possible"

I've been a sort of a revised Kim Possiblr for a few years. For instance, I'm not a superhero during the night, I do not go to fight the eveil Doc in her show. Yet I have my own moments where I do the thing that I'm determined to do. my mom has always taught me to go for the things I want and not be afraid of anything at all. If obstacles occur, obstacles it is! You can't expect a life that you can describe as obstacle-free.

"Another Day In Paradise"
To me, paradise is when you achieve your goal using ur own efforts, afterall, what's a goal given to you on a sivler platter? (( plz note, we're not talking about soccer here, because in soccer a ball on a silver platter counts for a spectacular goal ))

To you, I may sound crazy, some even call me fake for believing in myself this much. Just 2 days ago, a friend told me I'm fake and added this statement "don't tell me that if someone reached out and gave u what you wanted you won't take it, you are fake"

So, to you people, believing in your own work is now fake? Well, I'm sorry to tell you that if you think I'm fake then you are so pathetic.

"Shut Up Or Die"
It just seems amazing how many people always want you to be honest yet when you're honest they ask you to shut up....wierdos!

"If Not My Way; No Way!!"
Another day comes along and here we are going out to have lunch together, a bunch of friends. You speak up telling us that it's either at Chili House or no lunch. SWEET!! When were youassigned as my guardian to decide for me?

"You Know What, I don't Really Care!"
One morning, one of you can't believe that I'm too busy to interact, so you go and start the old version of " you've changed, you don't like us anymore! You don't sit with us anymore!"

You know what, I have my own life, and in this life there are plenty of people I need to interact with, why do you want me to stick to you like glue and dump everything else? But you know, since this is the way you think, then have it your way.

"Who's Fake?"
Me trying to be honest at everyhting, or you trying to impose yourself upon my life?

" I'm Sick Of This Kind Of People"
Yet, it seems the only kind available.
...............................

Yours Truly
